What's New in November?

Dear TwinsTalk Members,

I always have mixed emotions about November. It's exciting because it really starts to feel like the holiday season. I look forward to the Christmas music, gift-giving, church services, and more. But it's also a little sad because another year is almost over. It signifies one more year in our family's life that we'll never get back! So, this November, say thanks for all those you love. Be present in every moment and don't rush the year to completion. Besides my family, here are some of the things I'm grateful for this month: Click to read the rest of this entry

Two Snowflakes Giveaway

Hi TwinsTalk Members!

Just a quick note to let you know that we're giving away a copy of the delightful children's book, Two Snowflakes, on TwinsTalk! Author Jennifer Miller, a mom of twins, wrote this charming book about identical twin snowflakes, Phina and Bella. They appear to be exactly alike, but they aren't quite the same when you get to know them ... just like real twins! Phina and Bella like being twins because they always have each other. But they also get tired of being seen as exactly the same since they like to do different things. At the end of the story, they meet up with real twin girls and melt on their tongues to be with them forever! Click to read the rest of this entry

Back to School with TwinsTalk!

This is a big year for my twins... they started kindergarten! Overall, it went much better than I expected. As usual with twins, they surprised me by switching roles! The twin I thought would have a hard time adjusting to kindergarten did fantastic, and the one I thought would have no problem has taken longer to adjust. This is also the first year they're in different classes after three years of preschool in the same class. For them, it's been good because they're not distracted by each other (they're very competitive) and they're making new friends. However, it's been harder for me because I have to keep track of two different sets of homework! But despite a few glitches, it's been a successful start to elementary school.

What about you? Have your twins started school yet this year? How has it been going? Share your experiences on TwinsTalk by... Click to read the rest of this entry

Welcome, Summer!

Dear TwinsTalk Members,

It's hard to believe that summer is here already! Here in Florida, we have mixed feelings about summer. The traffic gets lighter and we no longer have to wait an hour to get into a restaurant as the tourists stay home and enjoy their own nice weather. But the humidity really kicks in and we dread the arrival of hurricanes. For most families, though, regardless of their location, summer is a great time to get outdoors, take a family vacation and enjoy some fun times. I hope you have a terrific summer!

Multiples of the Month

Congratulations to our new Multiples of the Month, Deenah and Rasheed! Their adorable picture is featured below, and their mom, Rasheedah, gets a book of her choice from the TwinsShop!

Dear TwinsTalk Members,

Spring is here! Well...almost. Just this morning, I was thinking about how warm it's been here in south Florida and contemplating putting away all of the kids' "winter clothes." (For us in Florida, that just means anything with long sleeves or pant legs.) But then my husband told me that the temperature is supposed to dip down into the 30s in the next few days! It just goes to show that anything can happen weather-wise in April! So, whether you're experiencing spring weather or still stuck in winter's grip, have faith that summer will soon be here.
