Dennis Quaid is establishing a foundation to help prevent life-threatening errors within the medical system. This was spurred by an incident involving his twin babies, Boone and Zoe, when they were given the wrong medication in the hospital and nearly bled to death. He is also suing the manufacturer for not labeling the bottles more clearly. Fortunately, the Quaid twins survived and are expected to be fine, but three babies in Indiana died from the same type of mistake.
